Classic Espresso Martini

Classic Espresso Martini

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh espresso (hot is fine)
  • ¾ oz coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa)
  • ¼–½ oz simple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Ice
  • 3-4 coffee beans (garnish)

Directions

How to Make It

  1. Brew fresh espresso.
  2. Fill a shaker with ice.
  3. Add vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, and simple syrup.
  4. Shake hard for 15–20 seconds.

You want:

  • Very cold
  • Slight dilution
  • Thick foam
  1. Double strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  2. Garnish with coffee beans.

The Foam TrickThe crema + hard shake creates that creamy top.

No foam?

  • Espresso wasn’t fresh.
  • Didn’t shake hard enough.
  • Not enough dilution.

Want It Better?

Upgrade it:

  • Use a higher-quality vodka.
  • Add a tiny pinch of sea salt before shaking.
  • Swap ½ oz vodka for ½ oz reposado tequila for depth
